The Los Alamos folk session is a group of local musicians to gather and play music together. We play a mix of irish, american, and celtic folk music as well as invite in old-time and americana traditions as well.
All musicians are welcome, and we enjoy learning and hearing music that we haven't heard before! The goal of the session is to provide an open, easy space for musicians of all kinds to share and entertain each other.
There are no requirements to participate. We do not charge any admission, there are no auditions or tryouts, no skill level checks, and there are no performance commitments.
We are not a band or a paid group, so you do not have to worry about gigs or performances that you need to "get ready" for. If you've just learned an instrument, or are an experienced musician, you are invited.
As we seek to grow the musicial community in our town, hopefully more sessions and jams appear to give us joy!

Here's a few guidelines for our specific session. A good general description of session history and basics of etiquette can be found here.

We have our own quirks and adjustments that may vary from what you might run into in other parts of the world. Don't fret, the golden rule always applies: Be kind and polite! Everything else is a guideline.
